Iveco says it will be showcasing a diverse range of commercial vehicles at the upcoming Brisbane Truck Show, with models from each of the major weight classes along with a number of new vehicles that will be making their public Australian debut.
At the lighter end of the scale, Iveco's new 2015 Daily will be on display in van and cab/chassis formats. Winning the title of 'International Van of the Year 2015' at last year's IAA commercial vehicle expo in Hanover, Germany, the model now adopts an eight-speed 'Hi-Matic' full auto transmission, plus a number of other updates and improvements.
The medium-duty Eurocargo ML160 Rigid will also be there, giving show-goers an insight into the potency and economy of its 5.9-litre Tector engine, said to produce 279hp and over 700lb/ft of torque.
The recently updated ACCO, meanwhile, will be showing off its new cab styling and a raft of other changes, while the revised Stralis will be drawing plenty of attention with its optimised Series II Cursor engine.
It will be the first time the new Stralis has been displayed in Australia; full details of the new Series II Cursor engine range will be released at the show.
At the heavy end of the Iveco range, two Powerstar models will be on hand at Brisbane: a 6400 rigid tipper and a 7800 road train prime mover.
The 6400 is equipped with Iveco’s Cursor 13-litre powerplant and is available in three states of tune. The display model has a 24,500kg GVM and outputs of 560hp and 1840lb/ft.
The Powerstar 7800 is available with engines producing 550hp/1850lb/ft and 600hp/2050lb/ft; the powerplants are coupled to an 18-speed Eaton Roadranger manual transmission feeding power to Meritor axles.
Iveco will be one of very few manufacturers to be featuring a range spanning everything from car-licence to road-train applications at the Brisbane Truck Show, which will be held from May 14 to 17 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.
