Iveco Trucks Australia recently held its inaugural National Master Technician Tournament, with 50 talented technicians from the company’s national dealer network battling for trophies, cash prizes and, of course, bragging rights!
Open to all technicians from apprentices through to seasoned trade-qualified professionals, the challenge involved participants negotiating 75 challenging questions from Iveco’s online academy, covering all aspects of servicing and maintaining, along with fault diagnosis.
Iveco’s Sydney’s Workshop Foreman Justin Abood was the winner ahead of Jonothan Elias, a Senior Technician and Electrician from Black Truck Sales, and Nathan Wigger, Iveco Workshop Foreman at Melbourne’s Prestige Truck Centre.
Iveco Head of Network Development, Customer Experience and Training, John-Paul Falvo, said he was excited at the participation rate of the inaugural tournament and looked forward to growing the event in the years ahead.
“Interest in the National Master Technician Tournament from across the network was extremely positive, leading to a strong participation rate and three very enthusiastic winners,” Mr Falvo said.
“The tournament provided a fantastic means by which technicians could test their knowledge against counterparts from across the country in a friendly yet competitive environment, while further honing their skills, which ultimately is a positive for IVECO owners.
“On behalf of IVECO, I extend a warm congratulations to our top three and thank all participants.”
Plans are already underway for the 2026 instalment, alongside the introduction of new challenges.
