There's a new offering on Australia's light commercial vehicle scene, with Iveco's new Daily van and cab/chassis platform reaching Iveco dealerships across the nation.
Winner of the prestigious 'International Van of the Year 2015' at last year's IAA commercial vehicles expo in Hanover, Germany, the new Daily is said to offer numerous improvements spanning load space, driver comfort, fuel efficiency and more, with the manufacturer claiming around 80 per cent of the Daily's components are new.
The third-generation Daily is available in van, cab/chassis and dual-cab/chassis variants, and is powered by a choice of three four-cylinder turbo-diesel engines with outputs spanning 93kW to 150kW. A six-speed manual transmission is backed up by Iveco's new 'Hi-Matic' ZF eight-speed automatic, while the full range adopts a rear-wheel drive format.
The new Daily impressed at its international media launch in Italy last year. Pricing and local specifications for the new Daily range will be released on Thursday, April 30, at the range's Australian media launch.
The Daily will have its work cut out for it in Australia's competitive light-duty commercial segment (3501-8000kg GVM), where it will face off against a recently revised Fiat Ducato and Renault Master, the dominant Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, and the next-generation Ford Transit.
