The annual Australia Fire and Emergency Services Authorities Council (AFAC) conference will be held in Melbourne over August 27 to 30, and IVECO Australia will be in attendance with a ladder truck from sister brand Magirus and an IVECO Eurocargo tanker.
The European-designed Magirus M42L-AS Turntable Ladder truck is built on a 4x2 Eurocargo platform, and features a three-person/500kg working cage that can extend to a height of 42 metres. IVECO says it's ideal for general firefighting, firefighting from height and a range of rescue and inspection tasks.
The Dual Cab ML140 Eurocargo 4x4 tanker, meanwhile, has a Bell Environmental body and is powered by a 5.9-litre turbo-diesel that produces a claimed 205hp (129kW) and 950Nm.
Of particular interest to rural firefighting bodies is its 4x4 driveline, which comes standard with rear, centre and front locking differentials and hub reduction to both axles.
The dual-cab truck has room for the driver and up to four additional personnel in full firefighting gear.

According to IVECO Emergency Service & Specialised account manager, Rory Wale, the two trucks will give AFAC delegates a taste of the brand's diverse emergency service capability.
"For traditional firefighting applications particularly in regional and remote areas, the Eurocargo 4x4-based appliances are increasingly becoming a favourite around the country," he said.
"Magirus has a long and proud heritage in Europe offering a broad range of innovative turn-key firefighting solutions. Increasingly, the brand is now being considered more greatly in the Australian and New Zealand markets and response to Magirus products is extremely positive.
"We're confident that the M42L-AS model that IVECO is showcasing this year at AFAC will draw a lot of attention and enquiry."
After AFAC, which opens tomorrow (August 27) at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, IVECO says it will demonstrate the Magirus ladder truck to a number of firefighting bodies in Australia's eastern states.
