IVECO launches new Daily 4X4

A greater balance between off- and on-highway capabilities for the popular light truck, with independent front suspenion leading the chassis updates

The latest generation of IVECO’s versatile Daily 4x4 has landed on local shores, introducing many of the upgrades that debuted across the Daily 4x2 range in 2023.

The latest model retains a 3.0-litre engine, with outputs of 132kW (180hp) at 3500rpm and 430Nm at 1500rpm. It also benefits from enhanced emission standards, which places more stringent limits on engine cold starts. The engine can be matched to either a six-speed manual transmission or the optional eight-speed H-Matic fully automatic.

The new Daily 4x4 has a 7000kg GVM and 10500kg GCM rating, with a choice of three wheelbases options – 3480mm, 3780mm and 4175mm – in either single- or dual-cab configurations. Payload capacity for the model ranges from 4000-4032kg for the single cabs and 3635-3667kg for the dual-cabs.

The new model, which rolls on 19.5-inch wheels, features centre, front and rear differential locks as standard. There’s also a low-range transfer box with PTO option, allowing power delivery to ancillary equipment such as tipping bodies, pumps and drills.

Independent front suspension is new for improved ride dynamics, especially on-road driving.

The model’s wading depth is 670mm, and further helping Daily to manage deep water is an engine fan deactivation system that prevents damage to the fan when submerged. Another clever off-highway feature is a 12V/180A alternator with in-dash battery cut-off switch that minimises the likelihood of accidental battery drain.

Connected to the Daily’s C-section steel chassis is a steel bumper with integrated fog lights. The bumper has two recovery points rated at 3500kg each, while steel side steps allow easy ingress and egress while also protecting the vehicle’s sills. Further protection to the steering components is handled by a centrally mounted steel bash plate.

All models are equipped with a 90L fuel tank, with a 110L option.

IVECO’s ‘ESP9’ program offers a suite of nine active safety systems, while among the interior enhancements are revised colour treatments for the dash and seating, a heated driver’s seat with memory foam, a TFT display with digital speedo.

The new Daily 4x4 is also equipped with a revised Hi-Connect multi-media system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation and DAB+ radio.

Additional benefits include automatic climate control, heated, electrically adjustable mirrors, two cup holders and two bottle holders and an abundance of in-cabin storage compartments including under seat and overhead.
