IVECO turns 50

It’s been half a century since several firms came together to form IVECO

IVECO celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2025, with FIAT Veicoli Industrali, Unic and Magirus-Deutz first coming together to form the new firm back in 1975.

These days IVECO, the name derived from an acronym denoting Industrial Vehicles Corporation, boasts seven separate production sites and research and development centres in Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania and Latin America, with 3500 sales and service outlets in over 150 countries.

IVECO says it will be marking the milestone with a series of events held throughout the year, including a four-day event at its headquarters in Turin, Italy, under the banner of ‘50xBeyond’.

“Over the past 50 years, IVECO has thrived through collaboration and innovation,” said Luca Sra, President, Truck Business Unit, IVECO Group. “Our success is a testament to the collective effort of everyone who has been part of our journey – our employees, dealers, customers and partners.

“Together, we have built a brand that is ready to face the challenges of the future. We have contributed to shaping the history of commercial mobility and we feel empowered by our legacy and the strong foundations we have built.”

Today the company says it’s a global leader in alternative energy solutions, offering natural gas technology across its light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles, while also investing significantly in the development of alternative powertrains, including electric and hydrogen technologies.

Here in Australia, IVECO offers an incredibly diverse portfolio of vehicles that spans everything from car-licence-friendly vans to B-Double-rated prime movers. In addition, the brand also offers a rugged line-up of off-road vehicles, from its Daily 4x4 and Eurocargo 4x4 up to its T-Way 4x4, 6x6, 8x4 and 8x8 models.

The range comes backed by a dealer network of 60 outlets (including parts and service locations) and standard warranties that can be extended to seven years or 1,000,000km, depending on the model, along with service and maintenance packages and telematics packages on heavy-duty models.
