Trucking heavyweight Kenworth recently celebrated the delivery of its one millionth truck in America, the prime mover in question – a T680 Advantage with PACCAR MX-13 engine – presented to Kansas operator TransAm Trucking.
A special ceremony was held at Kenworth's Chillicothe production facility in Ohio to mark the occasional, with Kenworth and TransAm executives in attendance.
TransAm Trucking, based in Lathe, Kansas, has a fleet of over 1400 trucks and 2400 trailers. It currently runs over 1000 Kenworth prime movers.
The President of TransAm Trucking, Russ McElliott, said the company enjoys a very strong relationship with Kenworth.
"We’ve received excellent performance from our Kenworth T680s with the PACCAR MX-13 engine," he said.
"Our partnership with Kenworth and MHC Kenworth continues to be very productive and successful."
Kenworth General Manager, Gary Moore, said the handover of the millionth Kenworth underlines the ongoing strength of the 91-year-old brand.
"The production and delivery of our one millionth truck caps off an outstanding year for Kenworth," he said.
Kenworth has produced over 45,000 trucks in America in 2014 – its second-highest annual production tally.
