Kumho Tyre Australia recently cut the ribbon on its newest distribution facility, which is located in the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Dandenong South.
Boasting floor space of 10,000 square metres, the $10 million facility is the company's largest in Australia and is said to have a capacity of over 130,000 tyres.
Strategically positioned just off the Monash Freeway, Kumho says the centre will strengthen its Victorian network significantly, providing efficient distribution of tyres to the Melbourne metropolitan area and throughout the state.
Kumho Tyre Australia's Victorian State Manager, Leigh McDonald, said the addition – which follows on from a new 8500 square metre facility opened in January in Perth – is proof of the company's commitment to its Australian customers.
"Ensuring our range of passenger, SUV, 4x4 and commercial tyres is available around the country is a priority for Kumho Australia and our new facility here in Dandenong South will enable us to better service our customers across Melbourne and the state," he said.
"Kumho is continually looking at ways to strengthen its supply chain around the world and our new distribution centre is ideally positioned near major transport links to speed deliveries and increase efficiency.
"The multi-million-dollar investment Kumho has made will help maintain strong supply to the growing Victorian market for many years to come."
