London gym goes mobile

Forget business class – this innovative bus is 'spin-class' all the way…
If you can't get people to a gym, take the gym to the people – with this very clever 'spin-class' bus…
High-end boutique London gym 1Rebel thinks it's come up with the ultimate solution for time-poor workers, with the firm hoping to covert buses to carry a mobile spin-class.
The concept sees each bus's traditional seating removed to make way for 'static' exercise bikes. Starting from a number of collection points around London, patrons then subject themselves to a traditional spin class before being dropped at 1Rebel's headquarters in the inner city.
There they can shower, enjoy a cold-pressed juice and browse the gym's beauty and skincare products, before making their way to work.
However, the design is yet to be approved by British transport authorities and it does throw up some interesting questions. Will spinners be required to wear a seat belt? Will there be a mobile juice bar on board? Will the sight of 20-odd Lycra-clad, sweaty fitness fanatics cause pandemonium for passing motorists?
If 1Rebel can indeed overcome the legislative hurdles, the gym says it already has 10,000 keen punters on its waiting list for the unique service. So maybe the idea isn't so wacky after all…
