Mack Super-Liner LT: Review
The first of the limited-edition trucks were presented in green and gold, a nod to Mack’s Australian Made status. The company has been building trucks in Australia since 1963.
“Mack is one of the most iconic transport brands in the world, so it’s only right that such a special milestone be celebrated with such special trucks. I think it is a great opportunity for our passionate customers to own a piece of Mack history.”
Mack trucks arrived in Australia in 1919, with the first bulldog, a tried and tested AC Model which h were used in World War 1. Shortly after this first truck arrived, Mack trucks were put to work all over the country.
“Mack Trucks were counted on when Australia needed tough trucks to get the tough jobs done, and in this way we remember those first ever bulldogs,” continued Mr Bestwick.
“We are proud of our history and want to showcase that for all to see, with an eye to the future using innovative technology in each of these models.”
The limited-edition Super-Liner is fitted with Mack’s legendary 685 horsepower MP10 engine and the Trident gets the popular 535 horsepower MP8 engine while both feature Mack’s mDRIVE automated manual transmission. The two models are also available with Mack’s active safety technology.
Each truck will be identifiable by a number between 1 and 100.
Special features added to commemorate the uniqueness of each truck include 100 years identification badging both inside and out, as well as luxurious cabin fittings, an owners’ kit, a larger grille, and illuminated lights to highlight Mack’s branding, among many more features.
The 100 Years Limited Edition trucks fit with Mack’s tradition of special edition anniversary models, following on from the latest Southern Cross Limited Edition range in 2013, the Centennial Limited Edition in 2000, and the 1988 Bicentennial Limited Edition Super-Liner.
