Mack sale gives farmers $60k
Sale of the Jimmy Barnes tribute Working Class Mack gives drought-affected farmers a boostAustralia’s drought relief effort will get a $60,000 boost after a Queensland business owner secured a one-off Jimmy Barnes Working Class Mack truck at auction.
Scott Goode, the owner of Sarina Crane Hire near Mackay, was elated to make the winning $350,500 bid on the Mack Super-Liner which has a unique painting of the Cold Chisel singer on its cabin.
Profits from the auction are being donated to Rotary Australia’s drought relief campaign.

Mr Goode said he was a fan of Jimmy Barnes but the real clincher was the cause.
“I know a lot of farming families doing it tough, so I wanted to help them out,” Mr Goode said.
Mack Trucks Australia Vice President Dean Bestwick said every dollar makes a difference.
“Drought still affects 96 per cent of New South Wales and 65 per cent of Queensland, so Mack was determined to help farmers in anyway it could,” Mr Bestwick said.
“We are delighted to make this donation.”
John McLaren from Rotary Australia said the donation would make a big difference to those in need.
“It will go toward buying feed, helping farmers with their living expenses and providing health and emotional support on the ground,” Mr McLaren said.
The Australian-made Mack Super-Liner pays homage to Jimmy’s legendary Working Class Man – an iconic album from 1985 that still resonates with farming communities across the country.
