Anyone pondering the purchase of a new Mahindra Pik-Up ute has timed their deliberations well, because the Australian distributor of the Indian marque has just revised the driveaway pricing of its Dual Cab 4x4 Pik-Up and the packaging of its Single Cab 4x2 Pik-Up.
The Dual Cab 4x4 Pik-Up is now priced at $25,990 (driveaway), representing a saving of $2000 over the old price.
Mahindra’s Marketing Manager, James Halliwell, says the new pricing reflects some superb savings, especially when you take into consideration its pricing of just a couple of years ago.
“Roughly two years ago this model was priced at $30,990,” he says.
“It was then revised to $27,990 and now it’s priced at $25,990, so the Dual Cab 4x4 Pik-Up now offers some incredible value.”
The Single Cab 4x2 Pik-Up remains priced at $19,990 (driveaway), but buyers now receive the aluminium tray for this cab/chassis model at no extra cost.
“The tray adds an extra $1000 of value,” says Halliwell.
According to Mahindra’s National Sales Manager, Russell Thiele, the Pik-Up has been embraced by rural customers in particular.
“The Pik-Up has made great inroads as a farm unit but it’s also been encouraging to see the response from the mining sector and 4WD enthusiasts,” he says.
The Pik-Up is powered by a 2.2-litre, intercooled, common-rail M-Hawk turbo-diesel. The result of collaboration between Mahindra and Austrian diesel powertrain specialist AVL, it’s said to produce 88kW (120hp) and 280Nm, while delivering a claimed fuel economy of 9.1L/100km.
The Dual Cab 4x4 Pik-Up also features four-wheel drive with low range and auto-locking hubs and an Eaton mechanical diff lock.
A range of factory accessories are available, including a specialised Mining Pack with snorkel, light bar, and heavy-duty suspension upgrades.
All Mahindra models are covered by a three-year, 100,000km warranty and come with three years of roadside assistance.
