Hino Australia has opened a new Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) in Horsley Park, in Sydney’s west.
The new purpose-built, state-of-the-art, 9272-metre-square facility will allow the brand to increase inventory levels and reduce response times, it says.
“This new facility will optimise our supply chain network to provide faster service and improve inventory levels, resulting in a higher supply rate that will ultimately support the forecasted growth of parts sales,” says Greg Bleasel, Vice President – Product Support, Hino Australia.
The new PDC features bespoke storage systems that encompass everything from small parts storage through to single- and double-depth pallet racking and open-faced cantilever racking.
“This new storage system will ensure we can safely store and handle current and new parts of all sizes, future-proofing the operations against new product ranges and increased volumes,” Mr Bleasel adds.

The new facility represents a major progression from Hino’s old Caringbah facility, with the Horsley Pack site having double the floor space and ten loading docks instead of just two.
Racking heights have been reduced from 8m high to 6m to improve visibility and safety, while drivers and customers can now benefit from a waiting area plus kitchen and bathroom facilities.
Hino says it’s also targeting a 5 Star Green Star rating from the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) for the new plant, which features important sustainability measures including a 30kW solar system, a 40kL rainwater tank, energy-efficient LED lighting with motion sensors, and water efficient fixtures and fittings.
“This investment will allow Hino and our dealer network to meet the forecast future business expansion and meet the growing needs of our customers,” concluded Mr Bleasel.
