While the focus of upcoming Trucking Australia 2014 conference concerns industry-related issues, an optional session just before the event officially kicks off is on offer for any delegates seeking to hone their presentation skills.
The Australian Trucking Association will be hosting Trucking Australia 2014 at Hamilton Island (Qld) over June 6-7, but presentation and communication specialist Michelle Bowden will be holding a free training session for interested delegates from 9.00am on the Friday morning.
Bowden is recognised by the National Speakers Association of Australia as a Certified Speaking Professional – the highest international designation for speakers – and will be sharing her insights into delivering an effective, influential presentation.
“About 80 per cent of the population have some fear or anxiety when it comes to presenting,” says Bowden.
“In my session on Friday, I’ll show delegates how to plan and structure a presentation in just 15 minutes. When you design your message correctly, you won’t even have to rely on notes.
“If you’ve ever gone to influence a stakeholder and wished you didn’t have to do it because you weren’t quite sure how to approach it, this session will give you the tools you need.
“I’ll also teach delegates how to make sure their message is one that sticks – whether via email, in a small group meeting, or in a large presentation.”
Places at this session are strictly limited; they can be reserved through the Trucking Australia 2014 online booking system.
In addition to the many truck industry sessions to be held through the two days, Trucking Australia 2014 will also feature plenty of networking opportunities, including the Kenworth Legends Luncheon, the BPW Transpec barbecue, and the ATA Foundation Sponsors Gala Awards Dinner, the latter including the presentation of the 2014 National Trucking Industry Awards.
Full delegate registration for Trucking Australia 2014 is $475 and four-star accommodation is available at the special event rate of $270 per night.
