Mercedes-Benz announces dealer awards

Glittering ceremony at prestigious Melbourne venue celebrates the best dealerships and staff

Mercedes-Benz Trucks has hailed its brightest stars at its
annual Dealer of the Year awards in Melbourne.

Mercedes-Benz Truck and Bus Director, Michael May, handed over the
2016 Metropolitan Dealer of the Year award to Greg Gardiner, the Dealer
Principal of Daimler Trucks Sydney, Huntingwood.

He also presented the 2016 Rural Dealer of the Year to Kevin
Purcell, Dealer Principal of Daimler Trucks Newcastle.

Mr May says Daimler Trucks Sydney, Huntingwood, has been a
consistent performer for Mercedes-Benz during the past decade.

"The Daimler Trucks Sydney, Huntingwood team has hit it out
of the park year after year," he said.

"It has made a massive contribution to our sales, in all
segments we compete, as well as performing at a high level for parts and aftersales."

Mr May says Daimler Trucks Newcastle is a worthy winner of
the Rural Dealer of the Year.

"The Daimler Trucks Newcastle team has had a fantastic year,
selling well above their target for the year and reaching out to a range of new
customers," Mr May says.

"This is a proactive team, which has grown its service and
parts business, which is crucial to our brand’s long term success."

Trucks and Trailers Auckland was the Metro Dealer of the
Year runner up, and Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast was the Rural Dealer of the
Year runner up.

Tim Blackstock of Daimler Trucks Huntingwood, Sydney, was
announced as the Mercedes-Benz Sales Person of the Year.

Mitchell Hynd of Dandenong’s Whitehorse Truck Centre was
presented with the Rookie of the Year award and praised for his dedication,
passion and product knowledge. 

The Mercedes-Benz awards also celebrate the important
aftersales part of the business.

Mr May announced the winner of the Service Manager of the
Year award went to David Centofanti of Daimler Trucks Adelaide.

The Mercedes-Benz Parts Manager of the Year Award went to
Cameron Thompson of Daimler Trucks Somerton.
