Mercedes-Benz has sharpened its minibus offering with its new 12-seater Sprinter Transfer, which is now on sale in Australia.

The new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Transfer is based on the latest Sprinter LCV platform that arrived in 2018.

The standard-roof, medium-wheelbase minibus is powered by a 2.1-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel available in two ratings: 105kW/330Nm in the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Transfer 414CDI or 120kW/360Nm for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Transfer 416CDI.

Feeding drive to the rear wheels is the sole transmission choice of a Mercedes-Benz 7G-TRONIC PLUS seven-speed automatic. Fuel capacity is 71 litres for both variants.

Both variants also have a GVM of 4100kg. The Sprinter Transfer 414CDI has a maximum payload of 1465kg, while the 416CDI comes in at 10kg less. Both have a maximum braked towing limit of 2000kg.

Factory options range from adaptive cruise control to dynamic lane keeping and a parking assistance package with 360-degree camera.

Along with the extra power and torque, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Transfer 416CDI builds on the 414CDI with a chrome grill, alloy wheels, fogs lamps, high-performance headlamps and partial LED tail lights, overhead comfort control panel, electric rear sliding door, and auto lights and wipers.
