Mercedes-Benz Trucks announces Dealer of the Year awards

Mercedes-Benz Truck and Bus pays tribute to brand’s leading dealers
Mercedes-Benz Trucks announced its 2015 Dealer of the Year award winners at a glittering event in Melbourne this week.

Daimler Trucks Sydney was presented with the prestigious Metropolitan Dealer of the Year award, collected by dealer principal Greg Gardiner.

Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast won the Rural Dealer of the Year award, which was collected by dealer principal Cameron O’Hara.

The Metropolitan Dealer of the Year runner up was Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles Laverton, while the Rural Dealer of the Year runner up was Daimler Trucks Newcastle.

Mercedes-Benz Truck and Bus director, Michael May, paid tribute to brand’s leading dealers. "Our Dealer of the Year award is a huge honour, one that both Daimler Trucks Sydney and Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast well and truly deserve," he said.

Mr May said the two dealerships had set the standard for Mercedes-Benz dealerships in Australia and New Zealand.

"Both have demonstrated a clear commitment to putting the customers first, be it selling trucks, servicing trucks or making sure we get parts to customers as soon as possible."

Mr May explained that there was more to the Mercedes-Benz Trucks Dealer of the Year awards than the metropolitan and rural winners.

"We also celebrate the best salesperson, the best parts manager, the best service manager and the best rookie, because we understand that an excellent customer experience requires a big effort from many different people in many different roles," said Mr May.

The Sales Person of the Year went to Ted Ogluszko from Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles Laverton, while Tim Blackstock was the runner up. The Rookie of the Year award went to Mark Reynolds from Daimler Trucks Sydney.

Dean Scekic from Daimler Trucks Perth was announced as the Parts Manager of the Year, finishing in front of Paul Wyeth from Trucks and Trailers Auckland. Mark Purser from Daimler Trucks Sydney won the Service Manager of the Year award, while Greg Walker from Mavin Truck Centre was the runner up.

Mr May says Mercedes-Benz and its dealers are entering an exciting time.

"We are soon to launch a targeted product for the waste industry as we build towards the launch of an excellent new platform of trucks," Mr May said.
"With such fantastic product and the commitment from our great dealership network, we are ready to unlock our true potential."
