MiX previews RoadCheck telematics

MiX Telematics says its new end-to-end fleet management solution gives operators the edge in meeting compliance requirements
A leading international telematics specialist, MiX Telematics, has previewed a new end-to-end fleet management solution it says is the first of its type in this country, having been specifically designed to meet the needs of road transport compliance.
Unveiled at Melbourne’s recent 2014 International Truck, Trailer & Equipment Show, MiX Telematics says its RoadCheck system has been in development for the past 18 months and will be commercially available from June 2014.
The RoadCheck technology complements the firm’s existing MiX SafeDrive – a package that integrates in-vehicle monitoring systems and defensive driver training – while meeting current and projected regulatory and compliance requirements.
RoadCheck can also access Intelligent Access Program services via TCA-certified firm Black Box Control, which works in partnership with MiX Telematics.
According to Wayne Fee, Business Development Executive for MiX Telematics (Middle East, Australasia and Asia), RoadCheck will simplify compliance requirements for Australia’s fleet operators.
“The MiX RoadCheck tracking and monitoring platform offers a multitude of unique tracking features,” he said.
“Fleet operators can access key vehicle and driver data 24 hours a day in real time, in addition to historical trip data and insightful reports. The platform gives operators complete visibility over the status of their fleet – in particular, the status in relation to compliance regulations.
“From managing driver fatigue to monitoring maintenance and mass, operators will be able to take a proactive approach within their regulatory environment. The solution will also allow operators to record information required for the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme or TruckSafe audits, facilitating compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.”
Fee says he expects the greatest uptake of the technology to come from small to medium-sized operators of large heavy vehicle fleets, with drivers who cover long distances.
Founded in 1996, MiX Telematics serves customers in 112 countries. It has been operating in Australia since 2000 and has offices in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. Visit www.mixtelematics.com.au for more information.
