Daimler AG has announced it has appointed a new Managing Director at Daimler FleetBoard GmbH, with Dietrich Müller (pictured, right) set to take over the post from Dr Ralf Forcher (pictured, left).
Forcher is leaving Daimler’s commercial vehicle telematics arm to assume duties at the Pension Review Committee of Daimler FleetBoard GmbH, also retaining his role of heading the Mercedes-Benz Trucks order processing centre at Daimler AG.
Forcher said that Müller, who has been serving as Head of Product and Marketing Management at Mercedes-Benz Trucks, would only hasten the evolution of Daimler’s telematics systems.
“I am extremely pleased that Dietrich Müller will take over the position of Managing Director of Daimler FleetBoard GmbH,” he said.
“I have no doubt that he will continue to push forward with the effective further development of successful FleetBoard products for our customers. This ensures that Daimler FleetBoard GmbH will continue to be managed by a commercial vehicle expert.”
Müller has been a part of the Daimler family for 14 years and, among his achievements, can list the introduction of the Mercedes-Benz’s Actros, Antos and Arocs truck model series.
Müller said he was looking forward to getting to grips with the new role.
“We want to further strengthen the position of Daimler FleetBoard GmbH as the leading telematics provider in the commercial vehicle sector and to establish it throughout Europe,” he said.
“The main thing here is to maintain an ongoing dialogue with our customers so that we can meet their needs as well as possible.”
