National rego: input sought

The NHVR has launched an online survey to help gather operators' views on a national heavy vehicle registration scheme

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator is canvassing opinion on ways to deliver a national heavy vehicle registration scheme, and to help gather that feedback it's launched an online survey.

The NHVR says it needs to understand heavy vehicle operators' views on current jurisdictional registration services and on what changes would be desirable. It says it's engaged the services of market research company Enhance to conduct an industry survey, with telephone interviews already underway.

Best completed by the person responsible for registration within a road freight operator, the NHVR says the survey takes around 15 minutes to complete. The results will then be collated by the market research company.

"Remember, the more responses we receive, the greater the industry voice," says the NHVR's CEO, Sal Petroccitto.

Responses should be submitted by Friday, October 9.
