NatRoad auction nears

Bid for a Freighter trailer and Thermo King S-700 refrigeration unit at the annual NatRoad MaxiTRANS & Thermo King Auction Dinner

A Freighter drop-deck semi-trailer valued at $98,000 and a custom Thermo King S-700 Precedent trailer refrigeration unit will be auctioned in Brisbane on Friday night at the NatRoad MaxiTRANS & Thermo King Auction Dinner, to be held during the annual NatRoad conference.

The Freighter semi-trailer, similar to the one pictured and donated by Australian trailer firm MaxiTRANS, has a heavy-duty design to handle high loads. Features include a 125mm TFB coaming, a forklift-rated steel flush floor and hydraulic ramps on the beavertail, it's ideal for the transport of heavy machinery.

The trailer is also set up for container transport and road train configuration, featuring optional three-way twistlocks and a road train coupling.

The trailer on auction comes fitted with Alcoa wheels shod with Bridgstone Ecopia tyres, Hendrickson HT suspension, Glasurit paint and MAXUS lights.

The trailer will be auctioned alongside a Thermo King 'Black Panther' S-700 Precedent refrigeration unit (also pictured), which offers the latest technology and refrigeration capacity in the Thermo King range. Unveiled at the Brisbane Truck Show in May, this 'Black Panther' model is a one-off custom model, with sinister black paint and eye-catching lighting, and is sure to turns heads.

These two headline items are supplemented by a host of other equipment, memorabilia, leisure packages and more, with all proceeds raised helping the National Road Transport Association go about its vital advocacy work for the year ahead.

The auction is just one part of the annual NatRoad conference, which will be held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (pictured) over August 13-15. In addition to the many informative forums and seminars, this year's conference will see delegates brought up to date by the National Transport Commission and the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator.

The conference will also see the announcement of the 2015 NatRoad Awards, honouring exceptional individuals in the categories of Professional Driver of the Year, Transport Youth, and Excellence in Operational Support, and will culminate in gala dinner on the Saturday evening.

NatRoad is also offering free entry for young drivers not registered for the conference to attend a special delegate session to focus on youth issues in the road transport industry.

The session will be held in room P3 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on Friday, August 14, from 2.35pm to 3.45pm.
