Navistar blitzes ATD awards

Navistar brand International has come up trumps in the 2014 American Truck Dealers (ATD) Commercial Truck of the Year Awards
The 2014 American Truck Dealers Commercial Truck of the Year Awards were held recently in New Orleans, Louisiana, with Navistar marque International making a clean sweep of both the heavy-duty and medium-duty categories.
In the heavy-duty title, International’s ProStar model with Cummins ISX15 engine beat out Kenworth’s T880 (with PACCAR MX-13) and Peterbilt’s Model 579 (also with PACCAR MX-13) to claim top honours.
In the medium-duty field, International triumphed again with its TerraStar 4x4, which finished ahead of Kenworth’s Class 6 K370 Cabover and Peterbilt’s Model 220.
The awards were determined by an expert panel of journalists from leading North American truck media outlets, with the shortlisted models assessed on design, safety, driver/owner satisfaction and innovation, among other criteria.
The President for North America Truck and Parts for Navistar, Bill Kozek, said he was thrilled to receive the awards.
“It is an honour to be recognised this year with both the 2014 ATD Heavy-Duty and Medium-Duty Commercial Truck of the Year titles,” he said.
“Being recognised in both these categories proves International is back with great product offerings.”
