Iveco Australia says its new Daily van and cab/chassis range have received a warm welcome from the local market, with Truck Industry Council data indicating growth in both the light-duty van and light-duty truck segments.
Introduced mid-way through 2015, the Daily achieved growth of 54 per cent in the light duty van class and growth of four per cent in the light-duty truck segment, to give a combined total of 869 units.
The figures were very encouraging, said Iveco Australian Marketing Manager, Darren Swenson.
"Following the launch of the new Daily range in May and arrival of stock in the second half of the year, the result is a solid outcome," he said.
"Buyer interest in our market-leading eight-speed full automatic models have been particularly strong in both van and cab chassis variants. And when combined with the range's other key features such as powerful yet fuel efficient engines of up to 150kW/470Nm, advanced safety equipment and superior volume and GVM ratings, the Daily is an attractive buying proposition.
"This sales performance gives us confidence that the brand will be able to further improve its position in 2016."
According to the sales figures, Iveco also increased its volume in the medium-duty truck market by almost 11 per cent, although it lost ground in the heavy market in keeping with overall market trends.
In 2016 Iveco's product position will be further strengthened with the introduction of additional Daily variants along with new medium and heavy market models, including the 2016 International Truck of the Year-winning Eurocargo.
Iveco says this will be complemented with the launch of new aftersales initiatives and the expansion of its dealer network, to provide even better levels of support and service.
