Australian importer and distributor Penske Commercial Vehicles has appointed Mark Mello (pictured) to the role of General Manager, MAN Truck and Bus, following the resignation of previous GM Gerry Stone, who – according to a PCV press statement – has left to pursue other interests.
Formerly the General Manager of MAN Bus and Military Projects, Mr Mello brings considerable experience to his expanded role, having first signed on with MAN in mid-2000. In the 14 years since he has held a number of roles for MAN in this country, including a wide variety of management roles.
The Managing Director of Penske Commercial Vehicles, Paul Glavac, said Mr Mello was perfect for the role.
"Along with his involvement in MAN bus and military vehicles during the past few years, Mark is perfectly equipped for the task of spearheading MAN Truck and Bus in Australia," he said.
Mr Mello said he was thrilled to be taking on the challenge.
"My background is in truck and whilst I have been primarily involved in bus and military vehicles in recent times, I have always kept a close interest in trucks and I am looking forward to helping MAN to achieve greater success in Australia," he said.
"There is no doubt that Penske Commercial Vehicle has brought greater opportunities and resources for MAN in Australia, particularly with rental and leasing operations, which when combined with the MAN product line-up will ensure we deliver on the tremendous potential the brand has in this country."
