New Kenworth ‘Legacy’ video hits the mark

Essence of the Aussie trucking industry laid bare in poignant new clip, bringing the sector’s impact on society and families into sharp focus

Kenworth has just released a new video celebrating the multi-generational businesses that form the backbone of the Australian road transport industry. Under the banner of ‘Legacy’, the beautifully shot and scripted work shines a light on the true spirit of the nation’s trucking sector, and how it so often flows through multiple generations of the one family.

Previewed last month during the Kenworth Legends Luncheon at the Australian Trucking Association’s annual Trucking Australia conference in Canberra, the three-minute clip features an emotive original music score and numerous spectacular locations, including the Great Ocean Road, the Otway Ranges, the Mornington Peninsula, and the vast expanse of the Outback, near Broken Hill.

Kenworth says the clip “complements the story of relationships created while doing something that is so often described as not just a job, but a passion”.

According to PACCAR Australia’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Michael Long, the video encapsulates the vital role played by trucking in this country, and its impact on the wider community down to the individuals and families that underpin it.

“This video is effectively a short film that highlights how important the legacy is that we leave to those younger generations,” he said.

“We know the landscape has been challenging for many people for many reasons and this is our small way of saying ‘thank you’ to those people, not only who buy our product, but to all in the industry who continue to keep the country moving through the part they play.

“It is our way of celebrating how important the industry is to us.”
