The dust from the 2015 Brisbane Truck Show may have only just settled but Melbourne's 2016 International Truck, Trailer & Equipment Show will be here before we know it, with next year's event boasting a new look and new features.
The organiser of the 2016 ITTES says it's hoping to attract over 500 exhibitors and 40,000 visitors to the show, enabling it to lay claim to being "the biggest transport show in the nation".
Headlining the drawcards will be a new Moving Displays Test Track, which will allow companies to demonstrate the capabilities of their trucks in a live movement exhibition, while there will also be application-targeted displays under the banners of the Road & Civil Works Expo and Waste Management in Action.
The Victorian Transport Association will be hosting VTA Freight Outlook 2016 – an onsite conference for its members and key industry stakeholders that examines the future of road freight in Australia – while the new Education and Careers Pavilion will bring industry associations, educators and training providers together with freight companies and fleets to shine a light on career pathways within the Australian trucking, freight and logistics industries.
Once again the ITTES Invitational Show & Shine will draw many of Australia's finest custom trucks from around the country, creating a stunning complement to the many OEM displays.
According to ITTES Director, Simon Coburn, the trucking industry is constantly evolving, and the new-look ITTES mirrors that evolution.
"What we realised was that a truck show has to be more than just a showcase of heavy equipment in the traditional sense," he said.
"Our industry is a highly collaborative place and constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation, so we needed to create something that would bring out that side of it.
"The result is a new, modern concept that will set the standard for excellence and engagement."
The 2016 International Truck, Trailer & Equipment Show will be held at Melbourne's Royal Showgrounds over May 5 to 7.
