MTU Detroit Diesel Australia has announced that its name will soon change to Penske Power Systems, Inc. The rebranding, which is effective from April 1, 2015, better reflects the firm's ownership under Penske Automotive Group, Inc, which purchased MTU-DDA in late 2014.

A company release states the firm, which distributes diesel and gas engines and power systems for both on- and off-highway applications throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, will continue trading under the MTU-DDA banner until April 1.

"Under the Penske Power Systems name the company will continue to be a strategic distributor of Rolls-Royce Power Systems and Daimler and represent some of the most innovative and well-respected brands in the industry, including MTU, Detroit Diesel, Mercedes-Benz Industrial, Allison Transmission and MTU Onsite Energy," the release states.

"The company will continue to provide full parts and aftersales service through a network of branches, field locations, and dealers while offering customers a world-class system of sales and service support under the Penske name, which is synonymous for outstanding customer satisfaction and supporting their local Professional Power People vision."
