Swedish truck brand Scania has appointed a new Head of Sales and Marketing, with Christian Levin filling the role vacated by Henrik Henriksson, who will serve as the company's President and CEO from January 1, 2016.
Forty-eight-year-old Levin joined Scania in 1994 after obtaining a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and an MBA in Economics and Business Administration from Stockholm University.
Since 1996 he has held a variety of roles at Scania, including Managing Director of Scania’s operations in Switzerland and Italy. In 2010, he was appointed Executive Vice President, Commercial Operations with responsibility for operational activities at Scania’s global sales and service companies.
"I am looking forward to the task," said Levin.
"Our strategy is to deliver solutions – products and services – that drive profitability for our customers and for Scania. Our success is based on a professional sales and service organisation that supplies the right vehicles and the right services for each customer's unique needs in various segments and applications."
Mr Levin will be responsible for Scania's sales of trucks and buses, as well as industrial and marine engines and parts. His role also includes main responsibility for the development of services made possible through connected vehicles.
"Our connected vehicles together with the market's broadest range of trucks and buses for alternative fuels are important parts of our strategy to become leader in sustainable transport," said Levin.
