The Australian Trucking Association (ATA) has announced it is now taking nominations for the 2015 National Trucking Industry Awards.
The nominations period is starting earlier than usual this year to reflect the earlier date of the ATA's annual Trucking Australia conference, where the winners of the awards will be announced at the event's gala dinner. Trucking Australia 2015 will be held in Hobart's historic marine precinct over March 19-21.
As per last year, nominations are being taken across four categories: Outstanding Contribution to the Australian Trucking Industry; National Trucking Industry Woman of the Year; National Professional Driver of the Year; and the National Training Excellence Award.
The winner of each award will have demonstrated a commitment to the industry that goes well beyond the usual scope of their role.
This year's National Training Excellence Award will focus on bringing new people to the truck industry and the training they receive to encourage retention and promote a culture of safety.
