BMW Group Australia has announced a further extension of its relationship with Australian law enforcement agencies, with the supply of ‘authority specification’ BMW 530ds to the New South Wales Police Force.
“Globally, the BMW Group supplies emergency and authority vehicles to a large number of countries, so I am very pleased to see our brand continue this proud tradition in Australia,” said BMW Group Australia CEO, Marc Werner.
BMW says that the 530ds will be supplied in a specific authority specification, a variant chosen for its powerful, efficient performance. This, when combined with BMW’s condition-based servicing programme, ensures the 530d’s ‘whole of life’ costing is highly competitive.
The vehicles are fitted as standard with the M Sport Package for enhanced dynamics, as well as the M Sport Brake system for additional stopping power. Multi-adjustable Comfort seats are also fitted.
Popular options, such as a sun roof, are not provided as part of this package, enabling the 530d to be specified with additional authority-specification equipment (such as lighting and sirens) as dictated by service requirements.
BMW provides vehicles to authorities across four continents, including countries such as Germany, the UK, Switzerland, Italy and Hong Kong. These vehicles range from standard passenger vehicles to specially designed and modified emergency or security vehicles – all of which are recognised as providing efficiencies in both fuel and whole-of-life costs, as well as the dynamics and performance that authorities require.
