National Transport Insurance has thrown its support behind mental health initiative, 'Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds', recently becoming a top-tier 'Open Road' partner for the not-for-profit scheme.
Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds is committed to creating a single national mental health plan for the transport industry, and NTI is joining bodies such as the NHVR and the ATA, along with other industry stalwarts, to play a major role in how mental health is viewed and valued.
"We know being a transport operator is one of the most dangerous jobs in the country – both physically and mentally," said NTI's Chief Executive Officer, Tony Clark.
"Our partnership with Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds is about taking this further to ensure everyone in the industry has access to help and education about mental health and wellbeing.
"We're not just about keeping trucks on the road and sustaining businesses – it stems further than that. We're talking about individuals, families and livelihoods. For an industry to thrive we need to engage and take care of its greatest asset – its people."
Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds will host an official online launch event on Tuesday, August 18. To register your interest in visit HealthyHeads.org.au.
