After our initial launch review of the Kenworth K220 in June of 2022, our first decent drive of Kenworth's new-generation cab-over came in August of that same year, and readers have been devouring the review ever since. While the first major overhaul of the brand's cab-over since the introduction of the K200 in 2010 spells an evolution, not revolution, for the K-series dynasty, the myriad improvements up to a sum bigger than their individual parts. Driver comfort and convenience is a big focus, while gains in aerodynamics, electrical architecture, and driveline, among others, pave the way for a smooth transition from the proven K200.

When Australia's most powerful volume-production heavy-duty truck receives an even bigger and more comfortable cab, the linehaul community takes notice. Hino, however, has had a hybrid truck model for years: it launched its 300 Series Hybrid all the way back in 2007. This is refined, proven technology. However, there are many factors to consider before opting for a hybrid truck, which we examined in this back-to-back comparison of Hino's Hybrid with a conventional internal-combustion-engined equivalent.

IVECO says its new heavy-duty S-Way range promises significant gains in terms of safety, comfort, and total cost of ownership benefits. We got along to the national launch of the new range, held at Victoria's Australian Automotive Research Centre in March, to learn more about the platform and sample the range.

The Western Star X-Series range was launched in late 2022 and while much of the fanfare is often reserved for flagship models with all the bells and whistles, it seems the trucksales-reading public were just as interested in a real workhorse of the range. To that end, our run in a B-Double format from Melbourne to Sydney in a Western Star 48X day cab struck a chord, and continues to attract a good number of readers to this day after initially being published in May.
