Over 5000 Sprinters recalled

Mercedes-Benz Vans is having to recall all Sprinters built between 2018 and 2020 for a brake hose defect

Owners of Mercedes-Benz VS30 Sprinters with build dates between October 2018 and May 2020 are being urged to contact their dealers to rectify a brake hose defect.

A total of 5279 vehicles are affected by the recall and you can see a full VIN list here.

The problem with the vehicles is that the brake hoses may contact the rear part of the fender liner of the front axle while driving, causing anything from chafe marks to worn out brake hoses, resulting in leaking brake fluid.

Owners are being warned that if the brake fluid warning light is ignored, the braking distance can increase as a result of brake fluid loss. This increases the risk of an accident or serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.

Customers are asked to contact their most convenient Mercedes-Benz retailer for a free of charge check and repair.
