PACCAR announces Technicians of the Year 2024

The search for the 2024 Kenworth and DAF Technicians of the Year began in October 2023. All Service Technicians at Kenworth and DAF Dealerships Australia wide were invited to participate in the competition, which aimed to recognise and reward the best of the best.

The event consisted of four theoretical assessments measuring technical skills, product knowledge, engine and driveline expertise and professionalism.

The finals were held over a full day on Friday 15th March 2024 at PACCAR Australia’s Bayswater manufacturing plant. There were four practical tests that were a combination of electrical, mechanical and system testing. The finalists received over $30,000 worth of prizes at a celebratory awards dinner, including a voucher for a selection of tools vital to the job.

The winner of the Kenworth award was Grant Brown from Kenworth DAF Bayswater. Oliver Maher from Kenworth DAF Darra got second place, Joseph Reeves from Kenworth DAF Coffs Harbour came in third and Shayne Henderson from Kenworth DAF Bayswater was fourth.

Matthew Henderson of Kenworth DAF Adelaide was named the 2024 PACCAR Australia’s DAF Technician of the Year. He was followed by Lachlan Schrader from Kenworth DAF Perth in second place, James Brough from Kenworth DAF Melbourne in third place and Inndyah Chenoweth from Kenworth DAF Hallam in fourth place.
