PACCAR Australia lauded

PACCAR Australia has claimed a prestigious award for its internal efforts in the field of human resources
PACCAR Australia was recently awarded the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) Rob Goffee Award for Talent Management 2014, the accolade recently handed down to the organisation at a gala ceremony at Star City in Sydney.
The annual AHRI award recognises companies that excel in the identification, acquisition and retention of employees, while also marking PACCAR's ability to "build a pipeline of talent" within its organisation.
The award, which was handed down before an audience of over 500 people representing more than 60 companies, was accepted by Robert Brierley, Human Resources Manager for PACCAR Australia, who also recognised the efforts of Paul Wiffrie, Learning & Development Manager, and Christine Bombinski, HR Services Manager.
PACCAR Australia Managing Director, Mike Dozier, said the firm was delighted to receive the award.
"We are always delighted to be recognised for our focus on employees, having previously twice won Victorian Employer of the Year," he said.
"PACCAR Australia continues to be successful by being innovative – by delivering superior products, introducing new technology and, most importantly, by listening to our customers and meeting their needs.
"However, identifying and attracting, retaining and developing a talented pool of employees is critical to this success and continues to enhance our ability to better service our customers across the country. This philosophy extends throughout PACCAR Australia and our dealer network.
"For example, our commitment to education programs for our employees goes far beyond the graduate program, and includes trade skills such as certificates in automotive and process manufacturing, as well as management programs, including certificates and diplomas in business administration, automotive sales, and supply chain and logistics management.
"It is truly an investment in our future and in Australian manufacturing."
