PACCAR Australia, manufacturer of Kenworth and local importer and distributor for DAF, has renewed its commitment to the Australian Trucking Association by presenting the body with a cheque for $120,000.
The cheque was presented by PACCAR Australia Managing Director Mike Dozier (pictured, centre) at the Kenworth Legends Luncheon, held during the ATA's recent Trucking Australia 2015 conference in Hobart.
Focussing each year on different legends of the Australian trucking industry, this year the luncheon saw out-going ATA CEO Stuart St Clair interview Gordon Martin (second photo, centre) of Martins Haulage and Mick Travlos (second photo, right) of Victoria Trucking.
Mr Dozier said the ATA's work was vitally important to the health and future well-being of the Australian trucking industry.
"The Australian road transport industry is a benchmark around the world, and everybody in this room should be proud of what's been created," he said.
"It is a leader in innovative solutions for productivity and safety, and the ATA does a fantastic job of supporting it, promoting it, and helping it grow."
On behalf of PACCAR Australia, the PACCAR dealer network and the PACCAR dealer industry fund, Mr Dozier presented the cheque to ATA Chair Noelene Watson (pictured, right) and Joint Managing Director, Services, of major Kenworth dealer Brown and Hurley, Rob Brown (pictured, left).
Mrs Watson voiced her thanks to PACCAR Australia for the company's assistance.
"PACCAR Australia and Kenworth dealers have been a tremendous support to us," she said.
"We really appreciate that you [PACCAR Australia] feel, through giving to the ATA, that you are contributing to our industry and we thank you for that support."
