Patrick Autocare expands Isuzu line-up

Auto transport expert Patrick Autocare has just added to its fleet of Isuzu car transporters with the purchase of a new FXD 1000

Car transport specialist Patrick Autocare has just purchased a new Isuzu FXD 1000, adding the truck to a 500-strong fleet that spans numerous Isuzu truck models.

The vehicle, which was fitted out by Melbourne truck and trailer body builder D’Angelo’s, will be used as a metro car carrier in Australia’s eastern states. Its short 14.5m trailer will help the Isuzu’s driver to negotiate tight city streets, while its top deck can be loaded at ground level before being hydraulically lifted – a great safety feature that means the driver can avoid working at height.

Patrick Autocare has offered car processing, storage and distribution services for over half a century. Among its many clients are some of Australia’s largest car distributors and importers, as well as dealerships, national dealer networks and the general public.

It currently moves over a million vehicles each year.

It also delivers Isuzu trucks to Isuzu’s Australian dealer network – which is why, says Patrick Autocare Branch Manager Central Region, Joe Berlingeri (pictured), the marque was ‘front of mind’ when a new truck was required.

“We can always count on Isuzu to deliver on its promise of quality and reliability,” he says.

“We’ve never had any trouble with the Isuzu trucks in our fleet.”

Berlingeri says the FXD 1000’s features are a good match for Patrick’s needs.

“The truck’s power output [257kW at 2000rpm) is ideal to tow the custom-made four-car carrier,” he says.

“Chassis length and height were also important factors for us, allowing easy mounting of the trailer. Furthermore, the FXD 1000’s GCM of 36,000kg is just right to carry the weight of four cars.”

Berlingeri says the new truck has settled into its role with ease.

“So far the FXD 1000 has proved to be up to the task – it’s quite the workhorse,” he says.

“The truck’s performance has been very well received. The drivers are all pleasantly surprised at just how good the FXD 1000 is – it outperforms their expectations.”
