Pearson's takes 200th Freightliner

Port Macquarie-based Jim Pearson Transport recently took delivery of its 200th Freightliner

Freightliner and road freight operator Jim Pearson Transport both marked a milestone in their association recently, with the Port Macquarie-based road freight specialist recently taking delivery of its 200th Freightliner model, supplied through Mavin Truck Centre.

Company owner Jim Pearson said he's entrusted his business to Freightliner for good reason.

"Freightliner continues to be my provider of choice because of their consistent performance," he said.

"Our decision to buy from Freightliner 12 years ago was driven by the need to work with a manufacturer that was committed to driver comfort and tare weight, along with the availability of commonly used componentry and support I receive from my local dealer."

A 37-year truck industry veteran, Jim Pearson took over the management of the company from his father in 1999 and has owned the firm since 2007. He purchased his first Freightliner from Mavin Truck Centre at Kempsey in 2003, his 100th in 2013 and his 200th in June this year.

According to the General Manager for Freightliner Trucks Australia, Stephen Downes, the purchase of the 200th truck was a milestone worth celebrating.

"When the order for the 200th truck came in, we knew it was important to come to Port Macquarie and say thank you in person," he said.

"Purchasing 200 trucks, let alone 200 Freightliners, in 12 years from the one dealership is a significant achievement for a regional company like Jim Pearson Transport. It demonstrates both the exceptional quality of the Freightliner product and Mavin Truck Centres' commitment to providing great product support."

The Dealer Principal of Mavin Truck Centre, Dean Mavin, said the achievement underscored the dealership's key objective.

"Reaching this goal recognises our unwavering focus on exceeding our customers' expectations when they purchase Freightliner vehicles," he said.

"It also highlights Jim's loyalty and commitment to his local community. A lot of local suppliers have grown as a result of the support they receive from Jim Pearson Transport."
