Penske names Master Technician

Penske Power System's Detroit team has named its Master Technician for 2016

A Detroit technician from Townsville, Qld, has been awarded the title of Master Technician 2016.

Mark Hurst took out the inaugural award after outperforming five talented colleagues at Penske Power Systems' training facility in Glendenning, NSW, recently.

The in-house competition assesses technicians across six diagnostic and maintenance fields, and gives those who take part a chance to showcase their knowledge and skills.

Bob Akers, National Technical Training Manager at Penske Power Systems, said he was proud of all finalists.

"Penske Power Systems is proud of its technical talent and we are pleased to recognise the hard work and dedication they have demonstrated to be the best in their field," Mr Akers said.

"These technicians deliver the best in customer service and care day in and day out, and we felt it was important to recognise their talent and efforts.

"Over the year they've ensured that hundreds and thousands of trucks across Australia run smoothly and safely by using their factory-backed knowhow, our state-of-the-art workshop technologies and diagnostics, and their mastery on the tools, to get the job done.

"Ultimately, the advanced skills that our technicians acquire transfer directly to our customers, who are the real beneficiaries."

For claiming the title, Mr Hurst won an all-expenses-paid trip to the USA to tour Allison and Detroit manufacturing facilities, whose products are both distributed in Australia by Penske Power Systems.
