Penske rentals hits Sydney

Penske's local truck rental and leasing business continues to expand, with a new Sydney office now complementing its existing outlets in Brisbane and Melbourne.

The latest Penske Truck Rental branch is located at 78-82 Riverside Road in Chipping Norton, in Sydney's western suburbs. The office is open from 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, and 8.00am to 12.00pm on Saturdays.

Penske Truck Rental, which is joint venture between Penske Commercial Vehicles – the Australasian importer and distributor of Western Star, MAN and Dennis Eagle trucks – and America's Penske Truck Leasing, will offer a mixed range of trucks in its 50-strong rental fleet, including the MAN TGS 540 and TGS 480, and Western Star 4800 FXC, 4800 FS2, and 5800 SS.

Trucks are available in B-double and road-train-rated sleeper configurations as well as B-double day cabs, while Western Star's new 2800SS – which made its Australian debut at the Brisbane Truck Show recently – is set to join the Sydney line-up before the end of 2015.

In Penske Truck Rental the Australian arm of the massive Penske Corporation has a powerful tool, the rental and leasing business not only bolstering local sales for MAN and Western Star, but also serving to promote the brands to new customers while generating income in its own right, as it assists customers looking to handle extra obligations or maintain operations while another truck is off the road.

According to Penske Truck Rental's General Manager, Adrian Beach, the new outlet will help the business keep pace with expanding demand.

"Since our Australian launch in August 2014 we've seen a significant increase in the demand for our services, and we're keen to capitalise on this growth with the launch of our third location in Sydney," he said.

"This is in line with Penske's commitment to growing its business footprint throughout key customer locations in Australia, which will include the opening of two additional facilities within the next 11 months."

Speaking at a press conference at the Brisbane Truck Show, Mr Beach said the company would now set its sights on the western half of the country, with Adelaide and Perth the likely locations for future outlets.
