Mack Trucks Australia has recalled various models within its line-up for a driveshaft issue.
A total of 295 Titan, Super-Liner, Trident, and Granite models manufactured in 2015 between January 17 and September 29 are affected, with Mack Trucks Australia stating, "This recall does not apply to all Mack Granite, Trident, Super-Liner and Titan trucks manufactured during this time, only the limited number fitted with the driveshaft in question."
Affected driveshafts may potentially fail at the centre bearing, disabling the vehicle.
Mack Trucks Australia says it launched an investigation through its internal safety and quality processes after receiving a number of reports of the issue in the field. The company says these vehicles are being recalled purely as a precautionary measure.
The company says it has already begun contacting all impacted customers in writing and that work to rectify the fault has commenced. Customers are encouraged to contact their local dealer or authorised workshop to arrange an inspection.
