The construction of Exit 54 on Queensland's Pacific Motorway has reached a milestone, with bridge girders recently positioned for the upgrade of the Coomera Interchange.
According to Queensland's Minister for Main Roads and Road Safety, Mark Bailey, the girders were put in place after a series of recent nightly motorway closures.
"Everything went according to plan, and I'd like to thank motorists and local residents for their patience while these works were carried out," he said.
The upgrade of the interchange will cost $74.7 million, with over half of that funding being contributed by the Queensland State Government.
The installation of girders on the western side of the motorway will lead to more lane closures next month, while the entire projected is scheduled for completion by the end of this year.
