Qld truckie wins $25,000 prize

Townsville-based Paddy Knight of Queensland's Knight's Transport is set to enjoy some time away from the daily grind, after recently winning the PACCAR Parts 'Win Your Way to the USA & Caribbean' competition.

Valued at $25,000, Paddy won an 11-night trip for two adults and two kids that will take in highlights including Florida's Disney World and the Kennedy Space Centre, along with a trip to the Bahamas. The prize also includes $5000 spending money.

Knight's Transport is a two-truck operation based near Mount Isa that mainly handles work for the mining industry. The business runs two Kenworths – a T650 and a T904 – and the trucks are on the road 24 hours a day, six days a week hauling minerals.

Paddy, who won the holiday simply for holding PACCAR Parts Rewards membership and spending over $300 on parts in a single transaction, was understandably elated with his windfall.

"Winning the trip of a lifetime for just ordering the parts we need is amazing," he said.

"I've been happily dealing with Brown and Hurley in Townsville for over 10 years but to get this PACCAR Parts holiday for free is an amazing bonus."

Paddy's name was randomly picked from over 14,000 entries.

According to Melanie Little, PACCAR Parts Brand Specialist, the firm's rewards scheme delivers significant savings to its members.

"Last year our loyalty programme saw customers redeem over 126,000 offers, which equated to $984,000 worth of member savings on discounted truck parts," she said.

Paddy's win also paid dividends for Peter Keogh, Parts 2IC at Brown and Hurley, Townsville. Peter won himself a $2000 Flight Centre gift voucher just for processing the winning transaction.
