On Thursday, March 27, Qube Holdings announced that it had expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of Queensland-based freight company, Beaumont Transport, the deal finalised on March 21.
Beaumont Transport is headquartered in Ipswich, Queensland, and has other facilities located in Warwick, Acland, Gympie and Rockhampton, and in Tamworth in NSW. Established in 1970, it specialises bulk haulage – in particular coal, grains, sawdust, gravel and lime.
The deal, which is said to be worth approximately $32 million, will allow Qube to expand its operations in bulk logistics in southern and central Queensland.
It follows on from Qube’s acquisition of WA’s Walmsley Bulk Haulage, a specialist ore haulage firm that services Pilbara-based clients. That deal was estimated to be worth approximately $8 million.
Qube has said that both acquisition were funded through the company’s existing debt facilities.
