Citroen Australia is clearing the decks of its current-model, long-body, turbo-diesel Berlingo, with those who purchase one before October 31 snapping up a total saving of over $4500, including a $500 fuel voucher.
In preparation for the arrival of the new Berlingo later this year, Citroen Australia says the promotion will see small business owners save $4551 on manual models and $4671 on semi-automatic models, when compared to the usual full retail price.
The offer will see the existing long-body model on sale for $26,000 drive away (usually $25,990 plus on-roads) for the manual and $30,000 (usually $29,990 plus on-roads) for the semi-automatic – but only until October 31 and while stocks last.
The Berlingo comes with standard features including dual side sliding doors, rear barn doors, cruise control with speed limiter, Bluetooth and USB connectivity and remote central locking, while safety features include antilock brakes, stability control, a driver's airbag and hill-start assist.
Able to accept a full-size Australian pallet in its load bay, the Berlingo is powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel, producing a claimed 66kW at 4000rpm and 215Nm at 1500rpm.
Current stocks of short-body petrol model are already exhausted, says Citroen.
Some 230 examples of the Berlingo had been registered in Australia to the end of September this year, giving it a market share in the light (under 2.5 tonnes) LCV class of 7.1 per cent. The model squares off against rivals including Fiat's recently introduced Doblo (3.1 per cent market share), Peugeot's Partner (0.3 per cent), Suzuki's APV (12.7 per cent), Renault's Kangoo (27.3 per cent) and the dominant Volkswagen Caddy (49.4 per cent).
