Scania is rolling out a full suite of its New Truck Generation models for the biennial Brisbane Truck Show over May 16-19.
All of the vehicles are fitted with Euro 6-compliant engines, which Scania says account for around 90 per cent of Australian deliveries.
Leading the charge will be the new 650hp (485kW) V8 Euro 6 engine fitted in an R-series prime mover, complete with 2435 ft-lb (3300Nm) for long-haulage work.
It will be joined by a pair of G 500 six-cylinder Euro 6 prime movers: one in G 500 road freight guise and one as a G 500 XT specified for construction duties, complete with steel tipper body.

The final offering is a P 340 Euro 6, 6x2 gas-fuelled rigid truck, a specification seen for the first time in Australia. This green and efficient vehicle carries twin large-capacity compressed natural gas tanks, and can offer vastly reduced CO2 emissions, making it ideal for densely populated urban delivery environments.
The silver-painted display vehicles are all fitted with side curtain roll-over airbags, LED head and tail-lamps, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and electronic stability control.
Also fitted is the Scania Communicator telematics system, electrically operated cab tilt function, Scania Retarder and Scania Opticruise automated gear change.
Scania Trucks Australia sales director Dean Dal Santo says the company has seen a spike in orders since the NTG range launched in Australia just over a year ago.
"The Brisbane Truck Show will give the industry and general public the opportunity to see exactly how the latest technology in truck transport can benefit their lives and businesses," he says.
"Our focus on business sustainability will illustrate just how the addition of Scania trucks to a company fleet can drive down total operating costs, improve uptime and therefore profitability."
