South Central Trucks – a wholly owned division of the CMV Group – has announced it has begun construction of a new dealership at Wingfield in Adelaide's north, with the high-tech outlet scheduled to open in September 2015.
Representing the Volvo, Mack and UD brands, the state-of-the-art dealership will feature 6600 square metres of undercover space on a sprawling 4.3 hectare site, with 39 work bays in the main workshop, storage for up to 70 prime movers, four fully suspended B-double drive-through pits, a VIS brake roller tester and vehicle shaker plates. When complete, CMV says it will provide employment for 130 people.
The outlet will also field four 24-hour customer support vehicles, providing back-up 365 days a year for all the products supported and sold by the dealership.
Other benefits include after-hours servicing and 24-hour secure access, plus a fully equipped drivers' lounge, overnight rooms, work stations with wi-fi connectivity, an espresso coffee station, plasma TVs and more. The vehicle drop-off/pick-up area will have an all-weather canopy and there will also be a designated parking area for trailers.
According to Paul Crawford, Joint Managing Director of CMV, the new facility will usher in a new era of service for truck drivers and operators in South Australia.
"The facilities will be some of the best in the world, allowing us to showcase our fantastic trucks and elevate our customer care to the highest level, whilst at the same time providing our staff with the best working environment possible," he said.
"The decision to build this dealership represents a significant investment and reflects the confidence the CMV Group has not only in the future of South Central Trucks, but also Volvo Group Australia and the South Australian transport industry."
Volvo Group Australia President, Peter Voorhoeve, was quick to congratulate the CMV Group on its latest initiative.
"This new facility is a massive investment and demonstrates CMV’s commitment to providing quality service and further enhancing the customer’s experience," he said.
