Search begins for next ATA CEO

The Australian Trucking Association has begun the search for its next Chief Executive Officer
Australia's peak representative body for the trucking industry, the Australian Trucking Association, has launched the hunt for its next CEO.
The ATA's current Chief Executive, Stuart St Clair (pictured), has held the role for the last nine years, but announced his impending retirement at the body's Trucking Australia 2014 conference on Hamilton Island, Queensland, in early June.
Now the ATA has formally advertised the position with Seek.com.au, with applications closing at 5.00pm on October 15.
The Seek listing is as follows:
"The Australian Trucking Association (ATA) is the industry body which represents the trucking industry with members which include major logistics companies, transport industry associations and businesses.
"The association advocates the interests of its members to the Australian Government, Opposition, parliamentarians and government agencies as well as working to increase the safety, viability and professionalism of the industry.
"Reporting to the Board, the position of Chief Executive Officer is both strategic and operational. Ahead of the forthcoming retirement of our long-serving CEO in early 2015, we are seeking an individual with exceptional business acumen and a collaborative approach to manage and enhance the capability of an effective team.
"This key role requires an individual who can demonstrate:
>> The ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all levels of organisations, government and the public service
>> Experience in public speaking and dealing with media enquiries
>> An understanding of corporate governance principles
>> Proven experience in financial management.
"This pivotal role requires an innovative, results-driven communicator with the ability to demonstrate inspirational leadership qualities and well developed management skills. A remuneration package which reflects the importance of the role and which will attract high-calibre applicants will be negotiated with the successful candidate."
