Commercial cleaning company Ikon Services recently took delivery of a Western Star 4784SXC 8x4 truck with a hook lift, the model helping the family-owned firm provide its services to a wide range of private- and public-sector clients.
It's the first Western Star truck to be purchased by Ikon, which is owned and operated by Managing Director George Tahan and his son, Greg.
Ikon Branch Manager Peter Cardamone said he was impressed with the model's manoeuvrability and vision – crucial aspects enhanced by the truck's rear-set front axle and sloped bonnet.
The company says the twin-steer 8x4's lightweight chassis allows it to shift 17.5-tonne skips, giving it a distinct edge over many of its competitors.
The truck was supplied to Ikon through James Leo, Sales Consultant at Melbourne truck dealer Westar Derrimut.
