Structure reshuffle at ATA

The Australian Trucking Association has announced that a restructure has seen four of its individual departmental units merge into two
The Australian Trucking Association has altered its management structure, with its Policy and Government Relations units merging to form the one unit, effective immediately. The new Policy and Government Relations unit will be headed by Bill McKinley (pictured, blue background), who was formerly the ATA's National Manager Government Relations and Communications.
The ATA's previous policy manager, David Coonan, retired in May 2014 following a period of extended illness.
The merging of the two units sees Mr McKinley vacating his communications role at the ATA and so the Communications unit has been merged with the Corporate Relations unit under Steve Power (pictured, at lectern).
The ATA's Chief Executive, Stuart St Clair, said the restructure would enhance the representative body's operational efficiency.
"Both Bill and Steve have been with the ATA for nearly seven years and have held senior positions over this time," he said.
"With Bill’s experience in policy development and Steve’s experience with events and stakeholder management, these changes will lead to a more streamlined and professional ATA."
